Cogent recently received the Higher Standards Award from Midwest Builders’ Casualty recognizing a commitment to workplace safety and loss prevention. This award reflects Cogent’s outstanding loss control efforts, safety records, job site safety improvements and overall risk management practices.

Safety training is a continual process guided by a steering committee which includes quarterly training, safety bulletins, weekly toolbox talks and new hire physicals. All field technicians have OSHA 10-hour training along with customer specific training. An internal “Captain Safety Award” program rewards employees who recognize a safety concern and take action.

Cogent also has a safety consultant conduct regular inspections and provide guidance as part of the overall goal of continually improving risk management.
